Information - How The Tests Work

The information found below is designed to help you get the best out of BOFA® maths tests and to understand how formative learning works.

Our tests contain over 22,000 questions with options covering higher and foundation levels across GCSE, Cambridge IGCSE and Edexcel IGCSE exams. You can edit your GCSE paper, exam program and target level in your account settings.

BOFAmaths testing is only available for account holders who have purchased a subscription. Choose a subscription via the shop page.

Each BOFAmaths test includes the following stages:

  • An initial test to assess which areas you may be struggling with.
  • Explanations and similar practice questions to help you with questions you answered incorrectly in the first stage.
  • A retest to check your progress and highlight any remaining areas needing attention.
  • A progress report detailing any errors made in the final retest will be sent to your email inbox after all stages are complete.

For the best results, we recommend you take a free Demo test before starting the real thing. This is so you can familiarise yourself with the test format without affecting your recorded test data.
